Affiliate Links on Pinterest

AFFILIATE LINKS ARE BACK ON PINTEREST

Pinterest are now allowing affiliate links back on the platform again. Hoorah! This is great news for bloggers to enhance their earnings. Here is the official news from Pinterest:

“Good news! We’re allowing affiliate links on Pinterest again, which should make it easier for you to generate income from your Pinterest account.

In the past, we removed affiliate links from Pinterest because spammers were abusing them. Now that our spam detection system is so much stronger, it feels like the right time to reconsider our policy and allow affiliate Pinning.

Rolling out over the next few weeks, you’ll be able to earn money simply by Pinning your favourite products and recommendations from affiliate networks and getting clicks on those Pins. You can post as much affiliate content as you’d like, just as you would on your website or other channels.

You can also continue to get paid by brands to create sponsored boards and create sponsored original content. Our acceptable use policy already includes today’s updates as well as full information on what is and isn’t allowed on Pinterest.

We hope this is welcome news and helps you to make more revenue from your curation and Pinterest-skills!”

Announcement found here.

What does this mean for you?

If you’re a blogger already signed up to an affiliate network you can now pin the images from an affiliate merchant using your affiliate link.

My only advice would be to remember the pinner experience and try not to overload your followers with too many product pins. Keep the flow nice and engaging with a mixture of content.

Let me know if you have any questions or head over to the Pinterest Help Center.

    Hi,
I cannot see “you’ll be able to earn money simply by Pinning your favourite products and recommendations from affiliate networks and getting clicks on those Pins. You can post as much affiliate content as you’d like, just as you would on your website or other channels.”
in in the original article (https://business.pinterest.com/en/blog/affiliate-links-are-now-allowed-pinterest)
Is it part of a larger article, or just something you have assumed?

      Hi Marie,

Sorry I should have mentioned it again in this post. I’m a Pinterest UK Ambassador and this is the official wording I was given from them.

      Hope that helps!

Something I’ve noticed recently about Pinterest is that I’ve stopped getting any new followers. Do you know, is this because they prioritize commercial content and affiliate links, or because of something I’m doing? TIA
