After a crazy busy week in London where every day was filled with events, meetings, networking and trying to squeeze in work in between, I was totally ready for a bit of Self-Care Sunday.
To be honest, I think my body really could have done with spending the whole day sleeping. You know that heavy, lethargic feeling you get in your bones when you’ve just done too much? Yeah, I had that.
But as we had been staying at a friend’s house in London all week and with work-y stuff the next day, we still needed to make the long drive home.
Thus, Sunday’s self-care moments were all about taking a bit of time together to have a lunch date.
We chatted about the craziness of the week that had been. I caught the boyf up on all the happenings from the BritMums conference. And we planned ahead for the coming week.
Fittingly for Summer Solstice the sun came out. So we made our way to an adorable little coffee shop in Walthamstow where sipped at delicious coffee and munched away of on salad and sandwiches all whilst soaking up some rays in the small sun garden out the back.
’twas just what we needed.
And that’s the thing about self-care. It can be as elaborate as a simple as you need it to be. Sometimes you need a full day of pampering, or nutritious feasting, or spiritual centering …. other times you just need an hour with your favourite person and a bit of sunshine to fill your soul with goodness.
