They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but when Will Taylor from Bright Bazaar is involved it is fully expected that you judge away (and judging will only be a good thing). I have no doubt that Will be thrilled with the cover and I am happy to judge this book with its bright, colour-filled, palette-popping, invite-me-in-for-a-cuppa cover. Oh yes, this cover speaks volumes about what’s inside. Bright Bazaar: Embracing Colour For Make-You-Smile Style is a stunning interiors book.
Bloggers publishing books are one of my favourite moments as a blogger. I feel like it’s my duty to grab my pom-poms and give a good cheer. Of course, it helps if the book is as rad as much as a beloved blog. And I am happy to say Will has totally come through with this!
I’ve been reading the Bright Bazaar blog for years! I think I stumbled across Will’s colour frenzy way back in 2010/11 and I’ve been hooked ever since.
You see, I’m a huge homes and interiors enthusiast. I was one of the first bloggers to join Pinterest back in 2010 and most of my boards are interiors based. I spend much of my time visualising my space and dream of a home of my own to do with as I please. However, being the nomad that I am, I rarely stay put long enough to get much decorating and nesting in. So I mostly make do with lusting after gorgeous spaces online.
When I first came across Will’s style I had a ‘yes moment’. For so long I thought I was a massive weirdo for my preference of mismatched patterns and styles. I hated the matchy-matchy formulations of show-home styles, and my own spaces always featured collections of colours, patterns, and STUFF! Will’s blog taught me that I could embrace my mismatched preferences and inject even more fun into them.
So let’s talk about the book….
I received my review copy and did the obligatory flick through. You all do that right? You fan through the pages to check the book looks good? Well… I did that and then couldn’t put the book down.
Bright Bazaar: Embracing Colour For Make-You-Smile Style is chock-full, no exaggeration, of interior inspiration. It’s so darn inspiring I’ve already started putting post-it notes in to bookmark my favourites.
Will’s enthusiasm and passion for colour seeps into every page. He truly appreciates colour without discrimination. And that’s the beauty of this book. It’s almost like a handbook or DIY manual. Whatever your taste, favourite colour, style inclination or homely desires, there is sure to be a section of this book to cater to your needs.
My favourite bits of the Bright Bazaar book?
- Three Steps to Style A Vibrant Vignette (I love vignette’s in a home, they draw the eye and add interest, but there is quite a skill to getting it right)
- Multi-coloured kitchens (because I’m totally about mismatched crockery in all kinds of hues)
- Five Steps To Ace Colourful Eclecticism (because it sums up my own approach to interior style, but offers up some really helpful hints to tie it all together).
- The Tangerine Moodboard (because its rad)
So yes … I’m sold on this book. Bright Bazaar: Embracing Colour For Make-You-Smile Style will be proudly gracing my bookshelf.
You can pre-order Bright Bazaar: Embracing Colour For Make-You-Smile Style or grab a copy on publication day which is 17th April.
