Wishlist: Home Sweet Home

I have been obsessed with homewares for as long as I can remember. I spent my childhood collecting images out of magazines and designing my dream home in scrapbooks. As an adult I worked as a visual merchandiser in the homewares section of a high street retailer whilst studying at university. And now, as a Blogger, I spend many an hour on pinterest adding to my various home inspired boards, or trawling through home decor websites, collating wishlist of pretty home stuff. I really do need to get myself a big house – I’d be in my element!

Today’s topic for Blog Every Day in November is Home Sweet Home. So I’m using this opportunity to share some of my favourite home decor accessories currently gracing my wishlist. And with Christmas around the corner who knows?! Maybe something might make its way into my stocking.

Only once I had put together my wishlist on the collage above did I realise there is a distinct theme in my choices. There is an element of the curiosity shop in there, with vintage inspiration and quirky motifs. I think the season is totally making me covet a slightly more masculine look for the home, with darker colours and lines. I’d never have guessed this is the type of collection I’d end up with.

It’s an interesting experiment into my current taste.

I adore the print, cushion and the door matt! They all go so well together. Want them in my home tbh,

Want to come and help decorate our new house with me. I have a feeling by the time I get to the bedrooms I’ll be all out of inspiration.
I love all the choices here and I think a bell would be perfect for letting Jim know that I want my tea!

I’m totally not into materialism. I typically only have what I need. If it were up to me, right now, 80% of the stuff in this place would be given away and/or trashed. I find no use of it. I do like visually appealing colors, etc. Cushions/pillows, wall ornaments, etc. I love to color coordinate the decor. To me it’s more visually appealing.
