Outfit: Kingfisher Centre £50 Shopping Challenge

Outfit for £50

I like a challenge I do. So when the Kingfisher Centre in Redditch asked me to put together an outfit for just £50 from a range of shops in the centre I jumped at such a challenge. And here is the result!

I was rather strategic with my £50 and managed to get a dress, handbag, cardigan, ring and shoes. Good shopping eh? It’s surprising how much you can get for your money if you really think about it. And I actually take my local shopping centre for granted but there’s actually some decent shopping to be had. The Kingfisher Centre has come on leaps and bounds from place I remember when I moved here as a teen. It was so easy to shop for this whole outfit, I think we were done in under 2 hours and we even managed to squeeze in a muffin break too.

I am loving this cobalt shade of blue at the moment. The first thing I saw in Primark was this patterned dress and it instantly invoked feelings of Springtime. I am totally ready for Spring now. Goodbye cold weather please!

So my starting point was the dress which came with the brown belt. I then spotted the tassled brown bag on the way to the changing room and for a under a tenner I thought it was a bargain. It really doesn’t look ‘Primark’ and I got a few compliments for it already. No-one can believe where I got it from, it looks way more expensive than it was.

My little sister spotted this cardigan in H&M for me (little sister’s are rather useful shopping companions it would seem). It is the perfect shade to match the dress and I know I will be wearing this all summer too. I love a good cardigan.

The ring is a dark brown, almost a tigers-eye piece. It was from the jewellery section in Debenhams and is a nice addition for just £6. I do love over-sized rings.

Finally, the moccasin-style flats from Dorothy Perkins are a steal at £15. They are super comfy and will get plenty of wear this Summer. That’s assuming it doesn’t rain all season like last year!

I wore this outfit for my trip into Birmingham yesterday. I got to meet up with a bunch of lovely Blogging ladies who I had not met before.  First I met up with Max from A Girl I Know, we have been emailing for a few months and she lives in Staffs so we met halfway and nattered over noodles in Wagamama’s. I love how easy it is to talk to other Blogger’s. We had a lovely time.

And then I met up with Emily from Emily Jayne for tea at Harvey Nichols. We have met a few times before and it’s so great how easily we get on already. She’s rad.  We went along to the Nails and Networking event at Bar Epernay in the Mailbox. It’s a women’s networking event and I met some lovely bloggers and twitter folk. We drank champagne  and nattered. And I met the lovely ladies from Trunk Junkies Vintage who had some gorgeous vintage jewellery. Turns the out they were readers of my blog! How cool is that?

I find it a little nerve-wracking going to these kinds of events but I’m so glad I went. I need to keep up the momentum and keep on heading out. There a plenty of interesting people out there to meet!
